Waterford Cheshire

Waterford Cheshire on John’s Hill opened on 11th February 2003. It is located close to all the amenities of Waterford City Centre and is on a direct bus route with wheelchair- accessible buses running every half hour.

The centre, at present, accommodates ten permanent residents in self-contained apartments and offers respite in four other apartments. Each apartment has a living room, fully-equipped kitchen, a bedroom and an en suite bathroom.

Waterford Cheshire has opened its doors to every interested disability organisation in the Waterford area including the local branches of:

  • Multiple Sclerosis Ireland (MSI);
  • Brainwave, the local group for people with epilepsy; 
  • Schizophrenia Ireland support group;
  • Parkinson's Association local group; 
  • Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA);
  • People With Disabilities Ireland (PWDI);

In addition, we host meetings of a diverse group of community organisations including:

    • Waterford soccer referees;
    • Waterford Animal Welfare Group;
    • Waterford City Community Forum;
    • Waterford Mens' Development Group
    • South - gay and lesbian group

Volunteer programme
