Waterford Cheshire on John’s Hill opened on 11^th February 2003. It is located close to all the amenities of Waterford City Centre and is on a direct bus route with wheelchair- accessible buses running every half hour.

The centre, at present, accommodates ten permanent residents in self-contained apartments and offers respite in four other apartments. Each apartment has a living room, fully-equipped kitchen, a bedroom and an en suite bathroom.

Waterford Cheshire has opened its doors to every interested disability organisation in the Waterford area including the local branches of:

Multiple Sclerosis Ireland (MSI);
Brainwave, the local group for people with epilepsy;
Schizophrenia Ireland support group;
Parkinson's Association local group;
Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA);
People With Disabilities Ireland (PWDI);

In addition, we host meetings of a diverse group of community organisations including:

Waterford soccer referees;
Waterford Animal Welfare Group;
Waterford City Community Forum;
Waterford Mens' Development Group
South - gay and lesbian group
