Sir William G. Davis Goff Sir William Goff (d. 1917) of Glenville was active in the political and business affairs of Waterford in 1892 he was appointed high Sheriff and elected vice-chairman of the Waterford, Dungarvan and Lismore Railway and in 1898 he was a director of the new brick factory in Bilberry. Goff was involved in the Waterford Boat Club and the Waterford Bicycle Club. He had a keen interest in motoring and was the founding chairman of the Irish Automobile Club. He was the owner of the first registered motorcar in Waterford a Napier with the registration W1 - 1 (the motor tax record can be seen today in the Waterford City Archives). He was a director of W.F.
