Let us soothe away your summer stress!
Ardkeen Library presents “Alternative August”, a series of “taster” sessions of different alternative therapies. You may have heard of different types of therapies but may never have had an opportunity to experience them. Well, here’s your chance!…and it’s free!!

July 30th Iridology  Brenda Gardner
Iridology is the study of the iris, the coloured ring of the eye. Via the optic nerve, the iris is connected to the nervous system and hence to the whole body. The iris reveals information about the body’s constitutional strengths and weakness, levels of inflammation and toxaemia, the functioning of the organs, eliminative and body systems and the symptoms of disease.

August 6th Alexander Technique  Tina Murphy
The Alexander Technique is not a therapy as such. Instead it is a process of re-education during which the individual unlearns poor posture and movement that has led to tension and sometimes pain in the body. By becoming consciously aware of the strain and unnecessary effort this is putting on the body, the individual goes on to relearn the body’s natural and correct posture and movements.

August 13th Integrated Energy Therapy Grainne Delaney
Integrated Energy Therapy (IET) is a deep cellular healing with the energy of angels. The objective of IET is to provide a simple and gentle way to open the flow of vital life force within the human body and its energy field.

August 20th Angel Therapy  Irma Hitschmann
Angel therapy is simply a method of leaning to be in closer contact with our guardian angels and their advice. It is the purpose of angel therapy to help individuals learn how to ask for help and guidance from the angels, and then to learn how to hear, feel and react to the response they give. Angel therapy is spiritual counselling directly from your higher source and your angels.

August 27th Bi-Aura   Michael Duggan
Bi-Aura is an advanced system of bio-energy healing which works through balancing the human bio-field. If the bio-field which surrounds the body becomes overly stressed then this can lead to a reduction in the energy flowing into the organs which over time can cause illness. Bi-aura therapists are trained to tune into blockages in the bio-field and to remove these blockages through a selection of mostly non-touch bi-aura techniques.

Each Alternative Practitioner will give a short talk on their therapy at 2.30 p.m. followed by a question and answer session. Then there will be some 15 minute sessions of one-to-one treatment with therapist. These sessions will be allocated on the basis of a draw which will take place after the question and answer session. Anyone present who wished to enter the draw may do so. Leaflets and information on each treatment will be available to take away.
