Is there more to Aunt Petunia than meets the eye?
We all know Aunt Patunia hates Lily but why?
What if Petunia fell for James when Lily brought him to meet her Parents?
This could be why Petunia hates Lily so much and why the reminder of anything magical seems to bring back painful memories for Petunia.
This would mean that petunia only started to hate magic after she met James and so she could have learned about Dementors and other magical phenomena.
Incedently in David Colbert's book 'The Magical World of Harry Potter'
He states that 'the Petunia plant symbolises anger and resentment' pg 179
I have absolutely no proof for this theory apart from the fact that Patunia displays some knowledge of the magical world in the order of the phoenix, after Harry and Dudley are atacked by Dementors.
